Yesterday Rare JDM hosted their first ever Autocross Challenge at the Speed Ventures event held at Auto Club Speedway. In hopes of getting more G’s and Z’s out to the track, the challenge was put out to all G35′s and 350z’s to come out and try to beat our Time Attack G35. A handful of cars came out to meet the challenge, and go after the Rare JDM aluminum under panel we were giving away to the day’s fastest time.
In his G35, newcomer Doug posted the day’s fastest competitor time, just .804 of a second slower than our best time! Great driving Doug and congratulations on your new under tray! Jimmy, of Top Jimmy’s Motorsports drove down from NorCal, and after battling with Doug all day, took 2nd and one of our Rare JDM harness covers – congrats Jimmy! All of the results are posted below.
Overall, the event was great… hopefully next time the weather will be a little more predictable and we can get a lot more cars out to the track! Speed Ventures always holds a great event, the new course layout was great, and not having to work between runs is always a relief! Thanks to everyone that came out, Cheryl for recording all of the times, and to Aaron and Dave over at Speed Ventures for allowing us to hold our challenge.
