Back in March of 2009 I had a chance to meet Scottie, a pretty cool guy who just got back from Iraq and who is still currently serving his country on active duty. Even more interesting, I had the chance to meet his awesome 2003 Nissan 350Z Touring pushing 450 whp with a Power Enterprise Twin Turbo Kit. I just get excited even writing about that.

Scottie picked up his prize in early 2007 rolling around with a modified intake by Jim Wolf Technology and enjoying his new toy until he was called to deploy to Iraq. While over seas this young man spent time dreaming about all the new toys he was going to shower his Z with upon his return and even made some purchases while over there. Hey, not that he wasn’t handling his business, but all of us know how to make a little time for our passion even in the darkest of places.

Heading back to the states in the summer of 2008, the real fun began. Having lived here for a couple of years, Scottie knew SoCal was the right spot to make his tuner dreams come true and also had met a few new friends, one of which many of you know, Cheston Chiu. Running a lot of his questions and plans by Cheston, Scottie knew immediately the he needed to take his ride down to Techno Square in Torrance Ca. to get the kind of work done that he had planned for his Z.

The master technicians over at Techno Square knew exactly what to do with this future bad boy and got to work on the Twin Turbo build of his dreams. Getting dirty with it the shop went straight to the heart of things with new Injectors, fuel pump and all the sensors needed to make sure this turbo build would not only lay down the power Scottie wanted but also be reliable as his daily driver as well.

Nothing was missed from the Z1 Stainless steel clutch line and the Walbro 255 fuel pump to the custom Setrab Oil Cooler and Southbend DXD-FE Stage 5 Clutch. Topping off this creation is the custom Techno Square ECU tune that helps to make sure everything is running like it was born this way.

With the motor purring, the body kit looking tight, and Enkei wheels sitting fierce, Scottie decided it was time for him to get even deeper in the tuner scene and joined Team Rare JDM in 2009. After his first time meeting the guys from Rare JDM, Scottie knew this was the right team for him and his turner urge was getting even stronger as he won his first trophy for his ride at the J-tuned, Formula 1show in Long Beach, CA. After that win it was on for Scottie and new plans and dreams would be set in motion for his ride.

Most recently, Scottie hooked up with Darren Aki from Rare JDM and handled some engine powder coating and painted Brembo brake calipers. They also have added a coolant modification to the rear of the motor, running more coolant to help the motor cool under high stress. I have personally seen the finished product and it is truly some beautiful work. I’m sure this one of a kind Z has many more things in store for it in the near future and an internal motor build is being discussed, but for now Scottie is looking at some modifications for his Infiniti FX 35 Sport. Can anyone say boost?

Scottie asked me to make sure we noted his thanks:
“To Cheston, for helping me so much with the Z and for being a great friend. Zack and Gabe from Rare JDM for getting me into the scene big time and being awesome friends. Darren and Dave for taking the time to actually teach me how to work on my car, I couldn’t be more thankful for everyone. I have met friends that I’ll keep the rest of my life.”

Also, let’s not forget the great guys over at Techno Square Inc. and Rare JDM LLC.
